Original Blog Post: August 26, 2008- And The Verdict Is . . .

After what has felt like an eternal last two weeks, the executive committee for the conference finally convened today and voted that we NOT be taken off the project and be allowed to remain where we are with Adam moving up to full time pay.  We feel so honored and blessed and joyous that we get to stay where our hearts are, not to mention move to the place we already had signed on instead of spending tomorrow driving up north to interview and look for another house!  I feel exhausted.  However, before I head for bed, I just wanted to express our thankfulness for each of you and the prayers you have been sending up.  Sometimes I've prayed and prayed and prayed and wondered if those prayers ever made a difference one way or another.  I can tell you, with certainty, that your prayers are making a difference.  Adam and I have been so shocked the last few weeks at the sense of peace in our home.  Even waiting for the committee to meet and packing up our home and all the uncertainty of everything right now, we have been filled with this powerful joy and peace.  The only possible explanation is God's Spirit being released by the prayers of many.  So, thank you for loving us so much to remember us in your prayers.  God does hear and He does act.
Something happens when we pray that would not have happened otherwise.--Dr. Alvin VanderGriend
